About our Programs
The program at Virtual High School of Excellence has been established in an effort to better serve youth who have not found success in traditional high school programs.  The alternative program at Virtual High School of Excellence offers an online community-learning environment.  Students are allowed to work at their own pace and time.  Ensuring that they have the motivation to continue through to graduation.  These students have a range of learning styles, abilities, and motivation for learning. Their learning is often negatively affected by a sense of isolation in large and impersonal public schools.  Their educational performance may also suffer from peer pressure, cliques, and a variety of personal and family issues. Too often these students' educational and social needs are unmet, resulting in a rising dropout rate.

Students have been leaving schools without the skills necessary to enter the work force or further their educational growth. In addition many students leave schools without the sense of themselves that would enable them to succeed in life outside of school.

Course of Study
Students in the alternative school will work toward a high school diploma. The high school diploma will allow students to enter into colleges, the armed forces, and jobs requiring high school graduation. Students must satisfy credit requirements in the following areas:

Attitude
There are two kinds of people in the world: those who make excuses and those who get results. An excuse person will find any excuse for why a job was not done, and a results person will find any reason why it can be done.  Be a creator, not a reactor.
