| Art is a full year class. Students in class will
learn basic design principles before beginning unit projects. Units in art may
include hand-built and clay pottery, drawing, or oil painting. Mini units will
address individual and small group interests such as calligraphy, digital art,
and watercolor. Mini units will address art history. Students are expected to
work in class on each unit. |
| Career Planning |

| Students explore career opportunities based on
personal assessments, interviews with community members, guest speakers and
research of occupational outlooks. Other topics to be covered include: filling
out employment applications, mock interviews, field trips to various businesses
and job shadowing. |

| Marketing |

| This course is designed to prepare students for
employment in various sales, customer service, advertising and promotion, and
first line supervisory positions in wholesale, retail and service areas.
Students will prepare to perform marketing and management functions and tasks as
they relate to selling and retailing, e-commerce, sports and entertainment, and
hospitality and tourism industries. Students will experience application of the
following Florida Math Standards: number sense data analysis and probability,
patterns and algebra, discrete math, and logic. |

| Business Law |

| This course involves the study of how our
nation's laws were formed, the ethics behind our laws, our kinds of law, how
laws are enforced, and the difference between crimes and torts. Laws for minors,
families, and consumers will also be studied. However, the main emphasis of this
course will be the study of contracts--different types, how they are formed and
ended, and damages. |

| This course is designed to introduce students to
the critical thinking, effective reading, organizational skills, and effective
learning techniques necessary for success in college. It will help students to
make a successful transition into college life by teaching both academic and
personal success skills. |

| The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop knowledge of the functions, capabilities, applications, and social implications of computer technology.
The content includes, but not limited to, the following:
-computer systems -operation and functions of computers -telecommunications -task analysis and problem solving -impact on careers and society -ethical use of technology -personal and occupational use of technology

Minimum Course Loads
Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors must enroll in a minimum of five
credit-bearing classes. Seniors are encouraged to enroll in five classes,
however, they must enroll in a minimum of four classes. Students may enroll for
a maximum of six credits during the regular enrollment term.
Testing Out
Qualified students may "test out" of courses. A fee is charged for the service.
Students that successfully test out will be awarded credit but will not be
awarded a letter grade for use in grade point average or class rank
calculations.
